Digression: Perspective

definition : Two-dimensional representation of space

discovery of space in the visual representation ( historical digression ).

eg The importance of perspective .

opportunities perspective / spatial representation :

1) The overlap . Effect of the space above and below.

2) spatial effect of size differences .

3) plasticity by light and shadow .

4) sharpness and blur .

5) The aerial perspective . The color perspective .

4) The linear perspective .

The image plane (image plane just in linear perspective)

The horizon line: i) Localization ii) Normalperspektibe iii) Frog perspective

a) The central perspective .

b) The two-point perspective / Übereckperspektive.

c) The three-point perspective .

d) * distance from object to observer / distances of the vanishing points : i) message, ii) Wide

e) * Persptektivische construction of circles and ellipses .

f) * The perspective the mirroring .

g) The lighting perspective. Perspective construction of shadow .

5) The curvilinear perspective. Curved image plane.

problems and limitations of linear perspective distortions in (a) very close objects and (b) very wide viewing angle. Example: column projection.

solution: Curved screen / image plane, ideal: a spherical shape (see, fish-eye lens).

reasons

a) observer focused only selectively, sensing its environment by turning the head or eyes. The overall picture that is from different perspectives together.

b) In a projection on a flat image plane, the distances to the sides even greater. This contradicts the visual experience that seem more distant objects smaller.

6) conscious resolution perspective or interplay of space and dimensionality.

perspective and reality.

abstraction - dimensionality.

combination of different perspectives unkompatiblen: Expectation refraction.
